Our “Where’s My Bag?” series highlights Clark & Mayfield handbags in interesting locations around the world. This is a guest post by Michelle C. of IntentionalTravelers.com. Michelle and her husband are "digital nomads," running their business online as they travel. For her visit to Bend, Michelle took the Stafford Pro 17.3" laptop bag in camel.
Bend is the largest city in Central Oregon's high desert region. With the Deschutes River running through town and the Cascade Mountains at its door step, Bend is an outdoor adventure mecca in both summer and winter. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, rock climbing, white-water rafting, skiing, golf, and even floating the river.
In addition to being the "outdoor playground of the West," Bend is also well known for its breweries, trendy shops, and art galleries. Its sunny weather, hip event calendar, and family-friendly vibe, has drawn tourists and transplants alike. In fact, the population has almost doubled since 2000.
Why We Went
Now that members of our family have moved out to Redmond, we've been visiting Central Oregon often. We've really enjoyed the dry, sunny climate and all the hiking we can do.
On this particular trip, we decided to check out Bend's Saturday Market, which takes place Memorial Day through September. There's a wide variety of artwork, crafts, jewelry, clothing, metalwork, woodwork, snacks, and entertainment. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
